Lights, Camera, Action for the Performing Arts Centre
The dream becomes a reality
We are thrilled to share with you that construction work begins this week on the Performing Arts Centre with an eagerly anticipated completion date of Autumn 2021. This means we can all look forward to a state-of-the art facility which will transform the teaching environment for the students and offer the community a cultural hub featuring live performances, screening and an excellent new venue for clubs and societies.
John Sanderson, CCS Principal, and alumnus Edward Bennett have been working on this project for over 8 years and John commented, "I am absolutely delighted that construction work begins. We’ve been able to go ahead with this project as a result of the expertise provided by Dawn Lodge Associates and architects Acanthus Clews, as well as significant funds from the sale of land to Dutchy Homes and the generous support from the School’s Housing Association. Additionally, there is Section 106 funding and considerable donations from the Rockspring Charitable Trust, the Wolfson Foundation, local charitable trusts and private donors”.
He added “We have a final fundraising target of £500,000 to hit our goal and to ensure the Centre is fully-equipped to enable it to be enjoyed by students, teachers and the community for years to come”.
Donations of all sizes are very welcome and will go directly towards making the Centre a building we can all be proud of.
